What is Sports Massage?
Sports massage involves soft tissue manipulation and exercise advice to reduce physical aches and pains. It is beneficial to any individual regardless of sporting involvement as it can provide relief for stiff & sore muscles caused by exercise, stress, poor posture and work/daily activities. A range of techniques are used to loosen tense muscles and other soft tissues, to improve function and decrease pain.

What can Sports Massage help with?
  • Keep injury at bay through prevention, treatment & rehabilitation
  • Relax tight muscles & stiff joints
  • Improve your posture & flexibility
  • Relieve stress & tension
  • Improve circulation & lymphatic flow
  • Soften & tone your skin
  • Useful in both sporting & everyday life situations
  • Physical and psychological benefits
What are the benefits of Sports Massage?
Sports massage is beneficial pre or post event and can be used to treat muscular aches and pains, therefore aiming to maximise performance. It can also be used for relaxation and maintenance as an integral part of a training regime. Your practitioner will recommend weekly appointments if you are experiencing a particular problem or 4-6 weekly sessions if you are attending for general maintenance.

What to wear?
For a Sports Therapy assessment the function of the joint involved, and surrounding joints, needs to be assessed. Shorts and t-shirt is therefore preferable, and a sports bra for females.

Our Sports therapist is Professionally recognised with BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree qualification, valid first aid certificate, and a Member of the Society of Sports Therapists
